My husband's Facebook was hacked into while he was out of town. The hacker changed his password, then hacked into his email account and changed that password! And because I'm linked, I had to shut down lots of my fun stuff. It had nothing to do with our personal protection...we didn't get a virus. FB just won a large lawsuit last month for this same thing. Anyway, the hacker was instant messaging and emailing all of our friends and family telling them we were in London, had been robbed at gunpoint and had stolen all of our credit cards and money. He proceeded to ask everyone to please wire 1000 pounds to a London address so we could pay our hotel bill so that we could fly home. People not hearing of this scam were very upset and were sending people to our house and we even stopped a couple from going to Western Union.
Mr. Right was out of town all last week and I was fielding calls...assuring people we were fine, didn't need money and that if Mr. Right went to London w/o me, he would be in BIG, REALLY BIG trouble!! It was quite an adventure;) His accounts are still be investigated by FB and Yahoo and I have tried to secure everything I have on my computer. Honestly...there is no foolproof way.
Update on Noah:
prices are so unbelievably good:)
It was so much fun to see so many friends at one place, to shop...and yes I bought lots of linen and other stash. The cakes, drinks...THANK YOU SHARON, FRANCES, JACKIE and PENNY!! We had a blast!
Hope everyone had a blessed weekend and this week is even better!!

That's terrible about your hubby's FB, I don't even do that one, just my blog. Glad y'all are ok!

Wow, what a hassle with your husband's FB account. I have one but never use it. There is probably something to be said about having few accounts on the internet. I just can't believe what those people did.
All your WIPs look wonderful and it looks like you also had a wonderful time at the shop!
I just heard the other day about Face Book accounts being hacked into - there were a lot of them!
All your stitches are beautiful! European Bistro looks like so much fun. Who is the designer of this one?
Glad you had a good time with your friends, and it's so good to "see" you again!
Scary stuff! Glad you are ok, though and no one fell for it.
Love the stitching!
Seems like you had a fun, fun time!
what a wonderful day away for you CIndy!!! SOunds like loads of fun!!! I think you needed it after the week you had!
Wow, I haven't heard of that FB scam...good to know! I have an account but don't really like it. Blogging keeps me busy enough! Need time for stitching! lol
Great progress on your wips! And what a lovely day at the stitching shop...sounds like it was fun!
Love your stitching and what fun you look like you are having. Sorry to hear about FB being hacked into.
Wow Cindy! I'm so sorry to hear about the hacking! I was a victim of identity theft myself a couple of years ago, and I didn't do anything wrong! They took money out of my account and wired it by Western Union, oversees. Come to find out, they were hitting hundreds of accounts at the same time. Fortunately, I discovered it right away, and was insured, but it is unnerving, just the same. Good luck in getting it cleared up quickly!
And what better way to get such ugliness out of your mind, than to go hang out in a stitching shop! It looks like a gorgeous one to hide out in for a long while! I'm so happy that you had a great getaway, even for a few hours!
I was just thinking today that I haven't seen you around for a while!!! It is no fun being hacked!!! It happened to my husband's amazon accout and someone ordered a laptop using his credit card on file!!!! No fun!!!! I hope your problem will e resolved soon!!!
Your WIPs are so beautiful already!!! And I LOVE that chair you found!!!!
Looks like you had a fun day with friends~~~ It's always fun hanging out in a needlework shop~
That is so scary how someone can get into your personal stuff that easily!! I do hope that all is back to normal soon and I also hope this guy is caught!!! Your stitching looks marvelous as usual my friend. So glad to see you!!!
How scary! Glad to hear that so far everything's turning out okay.
Your WiPs are looking great; thanks for sharing them with us!
Welcome back to blog land! I am glad you are ok after that awful scam. Your trip looked a lot of fun.
Hugs
Terrible about the stealing somaones account. So sorry it happened to you. Hope everything is going to be good again.
I can´t look at the photos of the stitching shop. OMG! I have never seen a shop so big. Are all those things shown in the picture different kits and charts? I want to be there!
Welcome back Cindy, nice to see an entry after so long. I love that Noah's Ark, it is so pretty when it is finished, can't wait to see how you choose to display it. You can't beat the old CS&CC. I know I sure stitched many of them along the years.
Thanks for sharing the spree with your friends, looks like you all had a great time what with shopping in such a nice store and the stash to take home. Now stitch away, stitch away, stitch away all.
Be always in stitches
The internet has really become a scary place...
I am sure the European Bistro wll be a great project!
The internet is no "safe" place, that is sure. You have been having fun girl!! You are working on some real cuties too. Good heavens there was a lot to unpick but you made great progress starting over again. Of course I LOVE your chair!! There are chickens all over it! : )))

I wont even go on FB or anything like it...just not worth the risk, I hope you get it all sorted soon. On a brighter note, fantastic stitching as always. You may even be pushing me to look at a HAED lol
OMG!! First those lovely pictures!! I really would love to join this some day. It will work out some how ;)
Love love your stitching! I love European Bistro, it is coming along so nicely!! You have done an amazing job on it, can't wait to see this one grow. It's a gorgeous design.
So sorry to read about your story of FB. We have to be careful!
Sending you big Belgian hugs, and I'm glad you are posting again.
Wendy
Welcome back, I've missed you! Loved seeing your progress and reading about the fun day at your LNS.
Missed your posts Cindy, hope you get back to blogging regularly now. Your projects are as usual beautiful, sucks about the one you were stitching the wrong way on though.
Love the pictures of your SA adventure! Looks like a wonderful shop!
How scary about being hacked. Glad you were able to get a handle on it.
What a nightmare time! Glad you are back on FB now. Loving your stitching - the Bistro one will be so lovely.
That is incredibly frustrating about your facebook encounter. I do hope that you can get everything back on track.
What a lovely little store!
And all your projects are looking great.
It seems like we can't enjoy anything anymore without deception, lol.
I hope it's all worked out by now.
I was surprised that I got an email for friend request from you, I thought that was a scam, lol.
Everthing looks great and whatr a fun day
Cindy, how scary about Facebook. Makes me want to shut everything down and go into hiding but of course, I know you can't do that. But what a terrible thing to happen. I'm just glad it was caught before any damage was done and that's nothing personal was pilfered. Love the pics...thanks for sharing!!!
Hello Cindy ! It is allways a pleasure to read from you ! Sorry about your husband ! so bad !!
I love all your stitching and I think the chair is just made for you !
Have a good week !
I am a VERY good driver! Girl, you just need to relax and enjoy the drive.
This scam isn't hitting just FB. When I got to work this morning and opened our email...same scam. I just laughed and hit DELETE!
MaryB
Scary stuff...can't be too careful! Hope y'all get it all straightened out with not too much hassle.
Great stitching...looks like lots of fun with your stitching pals.
What an awful experience with FB, Cindy. I have an account, but it's only open to my family so I can see the pics they post. I never use it. Glad you have it all straightened out now and got to relieve some of your stress with the trip to the LNS. Keep up the beautiful stitching.
Many Hugs,
Barb in TX
It's so scary with the scam and account hacking. Glad that everything is fine now, but it's such a unpleasant thing to encounter.
The stitching shop looks wonderful...I want to be there too...and I hope I could be there...LOL.
Great stitching friends are indeed best friends to treasure.
Glad to hear that things are ok with you. You had disappeared for a while and we were starting to wonder what had happened. I hope this FB thing gets straightened out to your satisfaction.
That looks like one awesome retreat. Glad you had a good time.
Wow! Looks like you had a great time. All of your WIPs look fantastic!
Glad it all turned out alright in the end - I hate hackers! Your shop looks great adn sounds like you had loads of fun. :)
Great WIP's Cindy.
Sorry to learn about your all problems with the hacker, hope it gets sorted soon.
So sorry to hear about Mr Right's FB account being hacked. That is just so scary. Hope everything is back to normal now.
All your WIPs are lovely.
Oh gosh, I'm sorry about your husband's FB acct getting hacked! People are so sad that they would do such a thing, it really makes you wonder. :P
I'm glad you had such a good time with friends!
Lovely stitching, and omgosh, the rooster chair--how cool!
I am so sorry about Nathan's FB getting hacked. See I knew I didn't like that thing - FB that is. I can never figure out how these people (can't think of anything else to call them) even do it. But just imagine how killed you would have been if I thought you had been in London and not let me know and come and stayed with me. So glad it all worked out okay and nobody actually fell for the scam.
Lots of Love
Patti xxx
What a headache about the hacker! I am so sorry. But...I must admit...I delete e-mails from unknown sources. Sooooooo, if you really had been in trouble in London, I wouldn't have sent money because I deleted your request without even reading it. Some friend I am! LOL!!! ;-)
Your stitching pics are so pretty and so is that chair. More pics, please! :)))
Glad you had fun in SA with my dear little momma. She is a keeper even though she takes advantage of me and never stitches anything for me. (Hey, I know that's a lie but it's bait...I've got cash for anyone who is willing to tell my Christmas present that she's working on. Double the cash for pictures! MWAH hahahahaha)
Take care and know that it's so good to see ya' back in bloggerland! :)
Gosh Cindy what a scam the person tried to pul OMG is all I could say. Well your work of late on all stitching is just gorgeous. Thanks for stopping by my blog ((HUGS)) Andrea
Glad you were able to get everything straight about FB, but what a hassle! Your friends and times together look like a blast! And your stitching is fantastic!
WOW what an elaborate scam! Glad that none of your friends got taken in! But what a pain for you guys to have to unravel!
Love the wrought iron chair!
It's terrible about the facebook scam! Your stitching is just wonderful!
Micki
Well I'm certainly glad your DH didn't go to London without you but the FB thing is horrid. Hope your friends all understood in the end it wasn't you.
Love Noah and I can't beleive you done so much on St. Nick! Girl you are too good. Mary W is looking great, I need to dig mine out again too.
Oh dear terrible thing! I hate FB with a vengeance. I left it about a year ago (if you can call it that as you can never delete your details once you put them in). Hope everything settles down for you soon. Love your wips. x
OK, I love that rooster chair!! And what a story about the FB account... I hadn't heard of that happening before. Hope it's all sorted out!
That shop you visited with your friends looks terrific. I'd be happy to have one just one third as big as yours near my place.
You were stitching a lot on your WIPs, they look awesome.
IsN't it terrible what hackers and other criminals do to get other people's money? I hope this criminal can be found.
We had so much fun in San Antonio. What a great day!
Where is the picture with you in it that Dorothy took? I want to see that one.
Thanks for the sweet things you said about me.
I 've heard about FB accounts, glad you are alright. All your WIPs are fabulous. And I love your find - a very pretty chair!
have a lovely day, hugs,
Olga
